THE OUTREACH FOUNDATION HAS AN OPENING FOR A MONITORING AND EVALUATION OFFICER
GENERAL
The Outreach Foundation is a small to medium-sized local NGO that mainly works with young adults in the areas of skills training and business development. We also offer a wide range of counselling activities, especially, but not exclusively, geared towards the migrant community. We currently operate out of three sites; our head office in Hillbrow, downtown Pretoria, and Musina.
Purpose
The M & E officer is responsible for overseeing all monitoring and evaluation aspects of the Outreach Foundation. This includes – inter alia – baseline, midterm and follow-up surveys, quantitative and qualitative data collection, as well as quality assurance of project activities. The M&E Officer writes donor reports and doubles up as a content editor with regard to all donor reports due.
Responsibilities and duties (but not limited to)
Overall responsibility for the systematic and routine collection of data as well as assessing and analysing the data collected.
- Conduct community mapping and census with project staff;
- Design and conduct barrier analysis for each intervention;
- Design and conduct follow-up survey among beneficiaries;
- Build the capacity of project staff to implement M&E activities;
- Serve as on-site point person for all monitoring and evaluation-related work;
- Help with the gathering of information for all reports due;
- Work to ensure data accuracy;
- Has superior knowledge of working with log frames;
- Support routine reporting processes related to data collection;
- Play a key role in the compilation and writing of donor reports;
- Contribute to the compilation, sharing and presenting of programme findings, trends, and results with staff; and
- Be the custodian of the Soweto Care System.
PLEASE NOTE: APPLICANTS WITHOUT A UNIVERSITY DEGREE IN DEVELOPMENT STUDIES or similar FROM A RECOGNISED UNIVERSITY AND A MINIMUM OF 5 TO 8 YEARS OF EXTENSIVE M&E EXPERIENCE GAINED IN A DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
Applicants must have the right to live and work in South Africa to be considered. A valid driver’s license with some five years of driving experience is also an essential requirement.
