August is Women’s Month in South Africa, with Women’s Day celebrated on the 9th of August each year. The day is marked to commemorate the historic 1956 march where 20,000 women marched their way to the Union Buildings in Pretoria to protest apartheid pass laws. During this day and month, we like to honour women’s contributions.
Outreach Foundation has a large number of women working for it and we also have many women who we work with whether through our Community Development Services, Skills Development Services or our Outreach Services.
We, therefore, wish to celebrate the women who show up every day with courage, resilience and determination.
Across our communities, we have had the privilege of walking alongside women who are learning new skills, starting businesses, supporting their families and creating opportunities for a brighter future. Their stories remind us that when women are empowered, entire communities thrive.
We see you, and we honour your contributions.
