Assistant chef (staff canteen/training) – Hillbrow

Outreach Foundation would like to provide dynamic spaces (A training kitchen, canteen/coffee shop and a rooftop food garden for a young graduate from one of the chef/cooking schools in Gauteng)

Intern Duties and Responsibilities

  • To work as part of a team to operate the staff canteen.
  • To assist with cooking and baking training as part of the food preparation skills training course.
  • To ensure all spaces are kept clean and hygienic and reaches standards set by environmental health.
  • To engage a synergy between the training kitchen, roof top food garden and staff canteen.
  • Assist with the creating of menus and cook for Outreach Foundation events.
  • To develop ideas and training around food preservation that could strengthen food security preventing food wastage.

Intern Requirements and Qualifications

The start date of the internship is the 1st of July 2025, and the end date is the 30th of June 2026.
