{"id":2472,"date":"2024-04-14T17:36:36","date_gmt":"2024-04-14T17:36:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/outreachfoundation.co.za\/wpof\/?p=2472"},"modified":"2024-04-22T13:31:02","modified_gmt":"2024-04-22T13:31:02","slug":"paralegal-intern","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/outreachfoundation.co.za\/wpof\/2024\/04\/14\/paralegal-intern\/","title":{"rendered":"Paralegal Intern"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-contrast-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3ffb7ccd889c0313edbfbcf7291a6697\">1 x Johannesburg, 1 x Pretoria and 1 x Musina <strong>(please note that being a French-speaking applicant would be beneficial for the Musina position)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8b2c43bdaa13a4de9d9ac73bee04a6bf\"><strong>NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS LISTED BELOW<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-b7a751f6076333cdbd1d49d5c7e57a1d\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">PLEASE NOTE THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS 23 APRIL 2024<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-luminous-vivid-orange-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-129e32c01008b3c94922649b46e97842\"><strong>For the Musina position, the deadline has been extended to the 25th of April<\/strong>, <strong>2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reporting to the immigration Lawyer and programme manager;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborating with the social workers, consultant and immigration Lawyer;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Managing the caseload from intake through processing and filing;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preparing applications for permanent residency and secondary benefits for foreign nationals;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Processing and filing national- and immigrant applications;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gathering applications and information from external clients;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keeping clients apprised of the progress of their cases;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to manage immigration inquiries, gather required information, and keep clients informed of progress;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintaining hard copy files and entering data into an immigration case management system; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Responding to immigration inquiries promptly and adhering to submission deadlines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Completed LLB degree, Paralegal or BCOM Law;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to collaborate with immigration attorneys and regional paralegal managers;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extensive knowledge of visa, permanent residency, and secondary benefit applications;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>High attention to detail;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good understanding of the migration and legal framework;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A passion for and understanding of migration;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent MS Office and spreadsheet\/database development skills;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Able to handle multiple projects, prioritize work and work effectively under limited supervision;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Able to work under pressure and deliver under short timeframes; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good project management skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\"><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><br>* Be between the ages of 18 and 34;<br>* Have never had any formal employment;<br>* Be a South African Citizen; <br>* Must have the qualifications listed above;<br>* Are not currently in full-time studies and can attend this internship full-time;<br>* Add a cover letter stating why you want to do the internship and specify which <br> city\/town you are applying for; and<br>* We will also require a completed application form, a certified copy of your ID no <br> older than 3 months, and a certified copy of your highest qualification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The start date of the internship is the 1st of July 2024, and the end date is the 30th of June 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: You must be willing to be subjected to a credit and criminal check or any industry-specific check required for your job role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\"><strong>Email your CV and cover letter, clearly stating which position you are applying for <strong>and which area you are applying for (i.e., Johannesburg, Pretoria, Musina &#8211;
