{"id":1956,"date":"2023-04-06T14:37:21","date_gmt":"2023-04-06T14:37:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/outreachfoundation.co.za\/wpof\/?p=1956"},"modified":"2023-04-08T10:16:35","modified_gmt":"2023-04-08T10:16:35","slug":"sewing-and-design-internship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/outreachfoundation.co.za\/wpof\/2023\/04\/06\/sewing-and-design-internship\/","title":{"rendered":"Sewing and Design Internship"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-large-font-size\"><strong>NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS LISTED BELOW<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sewing and design intern x 1 (JHB)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Job description:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A key outcome of this position would be coordinating the Sewing Incubation (student that completed the sewing training) as part of the small business in the informal economy and facilitating business and entrepreneurship training as part of the skills development unit of the Outreach Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The skills development centre offers training specifically to unemployed youth aged 18- 34.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Job Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To assist students in using their skills to produce clothing products generating income;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To enhance the capabilities of students that they gained in the sewing class;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To improve the possibilities and opportunities for students to become economically independent;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To function as part of a multi-disciplinary team that guides students&#8217; progress during incubation and to primarily address critical gaps and needs identified by participants in the incubation process;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To link students to markets;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To continually research what is relevant in the job market; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To run the embroidery machine as part of a team as a viable income generation opportunity for the Outreach Foundation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\"><strong>Qualifications and qualities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The candidate must at least have qualified with a degree or diploma in Fashion design (sewing);<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be a risk taker, an independent thinker that is willing to take chances;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be unafraid of challenges; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Must have experience in Sewing.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color\"><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Be between the ages of 18 and 34;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Have never had formal employment;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Be a South African Citizen;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Are not currently in full-time studies and can attend this internship full-time;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Add a cover letter stating why you want to do the internship and specify which city\/town you are applying for;
