Human Rights Workshop in Mpumalanga

A very successful workshop was hosted by Outreach Foundation on the 31st of March 2026.

Around 150 community members from Nkomazi, Block A, came out to receive essential information on human rights issues.

There was a lot of great engagement and information shared, including what human rights are and why we need them, the various human rights violations, and other important topics.

The most important information shared is what every person in South Africa has the right to, according to the country’s Constitution, which is that every person has basic human rights to:

  • Equality before the law and equal protection and benefit of the law;
  • Freedom from unfair discrimination;
  • The right to life;
  • The right to human dignity; and
  • The right to freedom and security of the person.

The South African government’s theme for Human Rights Month was “A Legacy of Courage: Protecting Rights, Preserving Humanity”. Outreach Foundation brought that theme into what they shared during every workshop held in each of the regions in which it works.
